Ghepan Ghat trek hides in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh. The trek starts from a small hamlet Sissu located on the Manali-Leh highway.Ghepan Ghat is a tranquil neon-blue glacial lake hidden in the picturesque valley at a high altitude of 4,140 m, even away from the sight of local guides.

The trail follows a gushing river, leading continuous panorama vistas of snow covered peaks and a valley blossoming with verdant wildflowers. Ghepan Ghat trek is of moderate level, the rough trail is unmarked and naturally beautiful which also involves difficult but enjoyable river crossings.

On entire trek, the sacred Ghepan peak can be seen overlooking the valley and quaint village of Sissu. The Ghepan Ghat Lake is extremely beautiful, its neon-blue colour and icebergs can be seen floating on its surface which are feast for the eyes.

Day 1: Drive from Manali to Sissu (10,235 feet) (85 km)

Reach Manali on your own, the transport will be arranged to reach a village in Sissu. The drive is over the highest motorable pass i.e. “Rohtang Pass” ahead passing through Beas temple en route. Reach the village and spend your night comfortably in a homestay.

Day 2 : Sissu to trailhead (Drive – 9 km) and Camp 1 (12,500 feet) (4 km)

Post breakfast, reach Tribhuvan Domestic Airport of Kathmandu and from there is a flight to Lukla. You can reach there in half an hour, the experience of flying will be one of the best ones because it passes through some valleys and some mountain ranges and quaint villages are visible.

Arrive Lukla and the team members will receive you and from here trek to Phakding which will be 3.5 hours long. Pass through some beautiful villages and lush green mountains. Reach Phakding and you will stay in a guesthouse there.

Day 3 :Camp 1 to Camp 2 (12,800 feet) (6 km)

Today, enter the picturesque deserted green valley. The initial trek involves river crossing and ahead the trail is a series of inclines and declines.
Cross some rocky sections until you reach the grassy clearing, that is Camp 2. Setup your camps here and retire for the night.

Day 4 : Camp 2 to Ghepan Ghat (13,600 feet) and back (8 km)

Start the trek to Ghepan Ghat, first part of the trek is rocky ascent over a ridge. Descend and come across the verdant levelled clearing through which a rivulet flows.
Ahead on the trail witness small stone huts of shepherds which are used in summers. Walk alongside the river and cross rock ridges. Reach the last ridge and Ghepan Ghat welcomes you, ice chunks can be seen floating here and there.
Spend good time here and afterwards return to Camp 2.

Day 5 : Camp 2 to Sissu (10 km) and Drive to Manali (85 km)

Post Breakfast we head back to Sissu, and we drive back to Manali for departures.
